Changing a Roaming Profile to a Local Profile in
Windows XP
1. Go to the "Start" menu and with the mouse pointer over the "My Computer" icon, press
your right mouse key and select "Properties". (Figure 1)

2. This will open your System Properties dialog in Windows XP. Select the "Advanced" tab
to continue. (Figure 2)

3. Under "User Profiles", select the "Settings" button. (Figure 3)

4. This will open your "User Profiles" dialog. Select the profile you want to change and
press the "Change Type" button. (Figure 4)

5. Select "Local Profile" to change your profile to a local profile and press "OK" to
continue. (Figure 5)

6. If the change was successful, the profile that you selected in Step 4 should show "Local"
in the "Type" column. (Figure 6)

7. Select "OK" to close the "User Profiles" dialog and press "OK" on the "System
Properties" dialog to exit. (Figure 7)
