Room Reservation Procedures

Room Rates

HCS staff will send an email to faculty and staff during the seventh (7th) week of each semester calling for computing lab reservations for the coming semester. Customers will be given a minimum of two weeks to respond.

Following that deadline Faculty, Staff, and GSI's may submit requests for remaining timeslots and account activation to Helpdesk at least 72 hours prior to reservation. All request out comes will be acknowledged via email or voice mail.

Requests will be processed according to the following priorities and guidelines:
  1. Top priority is given to official Haas courses as listed in the course catalogue. Regularly scheduled class times may be submitted as a standing order for an entire semester. The customer must specify if they will need class account activation and/or a projector set up for the trainer station.
  2. Instructional support and/or Research activities (e.g., simulations and collaborative activities, for example, the MFE trading simulation, the Evening MBA simulation, etc.) takes precedence over general purpose lab use.
  3. Events supporting Executive Ed. and other specialized Haas programs take precedence over general lab use.
  4. General lab use takes precedence over Haas activities during peak hours and peak days.
    • Peak Hours: Monday – Friday between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm
    • Peak Days: are expected days of heavy usage during the course of a semester, e.g. mid-terms, finals, etc. During these times priority is giving to students with fee-paid accounts.
  5. Events scheduled for officially recognized Haas groups and clubs will be accommodated on a space and resource availability basis.
  6. Winter Break and Summer Semester – specific times will be scheduled for Lab staff to work on computer upgrades and build evaluations.
  7. Use by entities outside of Haas may only schedule times that do not interfere with Haas needs. Fees will apply for room rental, account creation/activation, troubleshooting time.

If procedures are followed correctly, and Faculty and Researchers have anticipated their technical requirements a semester in advance and submit them accordingly in response to the “Call for Instructional Software”, their application requests for access to network shares, pre-installed plug-ins, etc., will be included in the standard lab build and made accessible to faculty, staff, and students at no additional cost. See HCS LAB SUPPORTED HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE for current build data.

In the event technical needs were not anticipated, and Lab staff are expected to accommodate extenuating circumstances, the parties requesting such modifications will be subject to any and all applicable extenuating support fees as follows:
