Instructor Profiles:


Robert Kermish:
Bob has been presenting technical training to students since 1982. He also has extensive experience in technical writing, having just released Simply Microsoft Word for Windows from McGraw Hill.  He specializes in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Project and Visio. He also teaches all levels of FileMaker Pro. Bob is a graduate of the State University of New York.

Pierre Khawand:
Founder and principal of People-OntheGo, has more than fifteen years of experience in the software industry. Pierre has founded several companies including a financial software company in 1987 (Computer Trends, Inc.), an e-CRM company in 1995 (Imparto Software Corporation), raised several multi-million dollar funding rounds, and completed two successful acquisitions. In the last few years, Pierre’s interest centered around bridging the gap between technology and people. He founded People-OntheGo to help corporate users manage e-mail and digital communication tools more effectively, and Digital-OntheGo to help organizations take full advantage of the new advances in digital video and web distribution, both part of the OntheGo Technologies L.L.C. Pierre holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan), and has completed several Executive Education programs at the Stanford Graduate School of Management (Stanford, California)

Jerry Maletsky:
has over twenty years experience in marketing technology training and consulting. Jerry is the owner and principle consultant of Dash Designs Consulting, having worked with hundreds of business groups to better utilize the critical data necessary to manage and forecast business trends using major technology tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Jerry has attained Microsoft certification in these products as well. Jerry has built a reputation for empowering the technology skills of his clients. This results in making them more valuable and productive within their organization. Jerry’s clients include Fortune 500 companies and major educational institutions. Jerry was educated in the City University of New York, majoring in Accounting and Business.

Jerry has his own background based in marketing and sales, with 12 years as a merchandise manager and buyer for Hart, Schaffner, and Marx, a former national clothing manufacturer and retailer. In addition, Jerry has experience in startup companies having introduced a new product to the clothing industry, receiving a U.S. Design Patent (1990), and successfully marketed it into a nationally and internationally distributed product with major and boutique retailers.

Jerry is based in San Francisco and has worked with clients throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, and South America.


Kelly McCathran:
Kelly McCathran is a Certified Technical Trainer and an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, GoLive and PageMaker. In addition she teaches QuarkXPress, PitStop, Font Management, HTML and Flash. She’s been teaching since 1990, traveling the United States (and countries beyond) conducting hands-on application training and lecture style technical seminars. In addition, Kelly works part time for Adobe as their Service Provider Evangelist, maintaining relationships with the top Print Shops in North America and training Prepress operators on the latest versions of Adobe’s products.

Helen Nishikai:
Helen has been in the technical training industry for over 15 years. She specializes in teaching custom courses which include the MS Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), as well as Dreamweaver, HTML, FileMaker, etc. Her communication skills are outstanding, clear and to the point. She is a great listener with a unique ability to translate technical information into easy to follow steps. Her background includes computer training, skills assessments, design, development, facilitation, and evaluation. Helen's credentials include: B.A in Psychology - UC San Diego; Graduate Study in Ph.D Program for Applied Linguistics - Boston University; Certificate in Training and Human Resources - UC Berkeley Extension; Adult Education Teaching Credential - State of California.

Robin Peers:
Robin is a highly skilled instructor with 14 years of desktop training experience. She has trained over 7,500 students in a variety of software applications including Project Management, Relational Database Design, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Project, FileMaker, and Web Design classes, such as DreamWeaver and HTML programming. Robin has also developed custom courses and training materials for business relating to Relational Database Concepts, the UNIX operating system and Microsoft Project. Robin has a very unique and intuitive style of relating to students. She is able to detect if students require additional explanation or lab reinforcement. She has the experience and depth to explain and exemplify situations in various ways, using analogies that the students can understand or relate to. Robin is positive, quick on her feet, a great communicator who enjoys sharing her knowledge.
