Please note that the MPAC is still pending approval from the UC system and applications are not yet open.
The MPAC can be completed in 12 months consisting of 30 units of coursework which includes a 3 month practicum or professional internship at the Big 4 accounting firms. The Haas undergraduates could complete the same course in 7 months as a fifth year program and are exempt from the following admission requirements:
- Valid Degree: From an accredited institution, comparable to the 4 year Bachelor's Degree from Berkeley with a satisfactory scholastic average, usually a minimum of 3.0 in upper division work.
- GMAT or GRE: Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General Test.
- Spring Bridge Program: All Non-Haas students are required to enroll in two Spring Bridge courses: 1) Intensive Acct. Principles and Practices (4 units) and 2) Corporate Finance/Economic Theory (4 units) The Bridge program could be waived for the already practicing CPA’s who are seeking to fulfilling their 150- hour requirement in certain cases.
- Letters of Recommendation: We require two letters of recommendation. Letters should come from individuals who are familiar with your background and training. Recommendation letters should be written by an individual in a position to evaluate you either professionally or academically (e.g., a supervisor, project leader, or instructor). Recommendations from co-workers, friends or family members are inadmissible.
- Personal Interview: Interviews are conducted on an invitation-only basis. Please refrain from calling the office to request an interview. You will be contacted by the MPAC Program office if an interview is necessary to make a decision on your application.
- Special Circumstances: The MPAC Program does not accept any credits or transfers from other universities. All admission decisions are final, and there is no appeals process.
