Sr. Accountant in San Francisco, CA

OVERVIEW: The GL Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the execution of cash transactions and reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting for various areas of the Company's financials by supporting the domestic and international finance teams. ______________________________________________________________________________________ PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the supervision of the Financial Reporting Manager)
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all domestic and foreign bank / cash accounts; resolve any
  • discrepancies timely
  • Prepare and enter routine recurring General Ledger entries
  • Propose non-routine, complex GL entries for Controller's review
  • Record all domestic and foreign payroll and related benefits entries timely
  • Serve as the primary contact for routine communications with domestic and foreign banks
  • Review all processed checks for payer / signature / bank information; identify questionable / fraudulent
  • checks / transactions (if any) for Controller's review Identify and correct errors in the check registers or in certain general ledger accounts under direct responsibility in cooperation with other team members
  • Prepare cash application reports for Controller's review in a timely manner
  • Maintain corporate card program
  • Participate in bill mailings and / or review as requested in cooperation with other team members
  • Conduct specific client transaction and payment analysis as requested by the Controller or other team members
  • Maintain domestic and international fixed asset registers and record depreciation for all sites monthly
  • Periodically review fixed asset GL balances for appropriateness and compliance with firm's fixed asset policy
  • Prepare month-end variance analysis for various legal entities
  • Maintain hard copy records of all bank / GL transactions and reconciliations
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation
  • Additional duties and projects to be assigned by the Controller
  • SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Under the supervision of the Financial Reporting Manager)

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Good understanding of GAAP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organized, customer service oriented, detail oriented and a team player
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary, especially at year end and during Q1
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in a financial environment, preferably in a General Ledger, and Cash/Bank Reconciliation function
  • Experience with Fixed Assets and Intercompany Reconciliations a plus
  • Minimum Education Level:
  • Bachelor Degree with Business / Accounting concentration
