Babies, Babies, Babies
Mike Rosenbaum is a new
daddy.
"Jack Perrin Bellinger [son of Chip
Bellinger] was born on April 9 at 10 lbs, 9 oz, shortly after the fall
of the Saddam statue in Baghdad.
The doctors were
practically high-fiving each other for deciding to do a c-section.
(He was only supposed to be 9 lbs. according to the ultrasound.)"

Debra Underwood
delivered a baby boy at 10:16 PM on Thursday, March 27th. Nicholas David
Underwood was 7 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches. Nicholas, Debra and Paul are all
happy and healthy,
adjusting to family life at home.
Word on the street is that Julie Clugage
and Kara Cosby are pregnant. Details, anyone?

Congratulations
to Jen and Steve Coughlin who welcomed Nolan Eric Coughlin on
August 26, 2002! Although
arriving a little earlier than expected, little Nolan weighed in at 5
lbs., 3 oz. and 19 inches tall. He
and his proud parents are healthy and doing well.
Kira
Bridget Galbraith was born on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 3:09 a.m.,

an only child.

Engagements

Jay Badenhope proposed to Virginia Tsai at a birthday party she
threw for him. The wedding is set
for early 2004. Jay will be using wedding planning as an excuse for
not updating this site. The picture is from their recent trip to
Holland.

Eric Meyerson got engaged to Annette
Cardwell while on a roadtrip along the Oregon coast. The wedding is
set for spring 2004. Here they are at the reunion in June.
We
have our very first all-Haas MBA02 engagement.
That’s right! Leila

be planning a fall 2003 wedding.

In the News
Jordan Corey is moving to Washington DC for a job at the GAO, where
fellow MBA02 Samantha Gross also works.
Aaron
McNally recently moved to New York for a dream job with News Corp.
He apparently travels to Los Angeles for work quite often.
Andy Zighelboim reports that he recently walked into his kitchen
and noticed that he left an empty bottle of Heineken on the counter, right
next to an old HaasWeek issue that he was reading. The label of the
bottle was NOT facing the wall, contrary to what Rogin claimed.
Rumor has it Zig threw the bottle away minutes later, and he was surprised
to notice that it was the only green item in the trash can.

2002
turned out to be one of the most unpredictable years ever for Krisila
Benson. It started out much the same for Krisila as for all
of us, looking for a job after graduation, etc. Then, she moved to
the Central African Republic for work and got caught in a coup
attempt turned civil war! Krisila was evacuated by the US
military to Cameroon where she spent five weeks there as a refugee, then
she had to return to the US for urgent surgery. Luckily, Krisila has
since recovered from these ordeals in time to enjoy 2003. She made
it to the class reunion before returning to a new role in Guinea.
Jihong Sanderson:
“During my trip in Shenzhen last month (September 2002), the most
dynamic city in China, I was invited to be a guest speaker on the
Shenzhen Television's national show called "World Finance and
Economy," to introduce American advanced technology management
as well as Berkeley's MOT. This program is now broadcasting in more than
10 cities in China.”
Monika
Brown has recently been
promoted to Vice President at Loomis Sayles Co. in San Francisco. Monika
can often be found quoted for her assessment of global companies in
notable financial news sources such as the International Herald Tribune.
Uri Man’s application
essays to The Berkeley MBA program were featured in the best-selling book,
“How to Get Into the Top MBA Programs” by Richard Montauk (Prentice
Hall Press 2002). Uri’s
essays were selected as “textbook examples of winning essays” and
“how professionally someone can market him-or herself” to Admissions
Departments at the Top MBA Universities.
The Berkeley Foundation recognized Hans Grande
for his valiant efforts to raise money on behalf of the University of
California through the 101% Lifelong Giving Campaign. Hans was honored with the “Young Bear Award” at a formal
gala on February 6, 2003 attended by notable friends of the university,
alumni, staff and administration, including Chancellor Berdahl and Dean
Campbell.

Our
very own Jason Saculles was a contestant on the game show, Pyramid,
in Los Angeles. The show
aired over several days in February 2003 and Jason walked away with a
hefty $50,000!!! Now,
that’s what we call a signing bonus!
Jason put his newly found wealth to great use by taking a
well-deserved vacation to London.
When
asked about his phenomenal game show success, Jason said…
"The
entire 'Pyramid' experience, from auditioning to taping the actual show to
watching it air, has been surreal. If someone had told me that less
than a year out of Haas my 'signing bonus' would be coming in the form of
game show winnings, I never would have believed it. Many people have
asked me how I handled the pressure. I am quite sure that I felt
more stressed while being cold called as a first-year than I ever did
playing the game! I'm going on a few much needed vacations and just
paying off debt with the winnings. It's been such a relief more than
anything else. And Donny Osmond is as genuinely nice as he seems on
TV."
