Dyson, welcomes you to the MBA ’02 Alumni Social Home Page.
He and his team (Christi
Burdick, Devan Cross,
& Emilie Cortes) continue
to work for you, all day, all night, to come up with a good mix of events
to reunite as many of us in the Bay Area (or those visiting the Bay Area)
as we can. We hope you all
can continue to attend as many of these events as possible.
Be sure to check the photo page for pictures from many of our
events, especially the photos from the One-Year Reunion this past June.
If you’d like to assist in
planning any of the social activities, please contact any
member of the social
team. We have many events
coming up that we could use some help in planning.
Holiday
Party
The December BoQ, originally scheduled for December
13th, is instead transforming itself into a Holiday Party hosted by Becky
Frank, Amy Belt and Teresa Hegdahl at their Noe Valley palace. If
last year's fiesta was any indication, it will be a great time.
Significant others welcome.

MBA'02 1-Year Reunion: Good Time Had by
All!
The Haas Reunion tour is now complete for
this season, as we've just completed reunions with the classes of '01 &
'03 (separate events in April 2003), and, our MBA '02 1-Yr Reunion (June
21-22, 2003). Hopefully you got a chance to make it to one of these
events, especially all the groupies out there. For the 1-year reunion,
some people came all the way from Africa, and even Concord, CA, while
others walked down the street a couple blocks.
The weekend began with a sun-filled
picnic at Crissy Field in the Marina on Saturday, June 21. Over 60
Haaslings showed up for the picnic along with 25-30+ significant others,
babies, dogs and friends! The grill quickly loaded up with everything
from sausages to burgers to veggie burgers to steaks to chicken, with
Marcelo Vasquez winning the prize for the biggest piece of cow on the
grill. Be sure to check out all the pictures from the picnic, courtesy

After 6+ hours of picnicking, the
Haasers went home to reboot aka clean up, with 30+ meeting out later at
a bar called Sitio, where we had the entire top floor reserved for "Haas
only".
We enjoyed a few cocktails and soaked
in the eclectic tunes and crowd, and even ventured downstairs to mix it
up a bit. 2am came quickly, and we all headed home to prepare for
another day of Haas-a-mania.
Sunday the 22nd offered the reunion-attenders
two choices: 1) an awesome hike from Mt. Tam down to Stinson Beach, or
2) a Giants vs. A's baseball game at Oakland, complete with pre-game
tailgate. A nice group of 8 attended the hike.
Meanwhile, 43 came out for
the baseball game on a day with perfect weather, once again. The A's
won in a close one, and Alex Rogin won over $100 in a little gambling
game called cup (don't tell the IRS).
What's a BoQ?
Going forward, we're going to slightly
tone down the number of official MBA '02 bay area alumni social events.
Turnout has generally been good at the usual Bars of the Month (from
20-50), and at the little reunions we've had (40-80), but, there's so
much going on already with Haas Alumni Network Bars of the Month,
various classmate birthday parties, reunions with other classes, and
other random spontaneous happy hours, parties and bbqs that we can
afford to get together via official MBA'02 events a little less. I'm
mostly referring to Bars of the Month. We will now have....Bars of the
Quarter, or "BoQs". BoQs will officially be held on the 2nd Saturday of
each month. The schedule for the next four BoQs (plus a get together
with mba '01) is as follows (locations subject to change), so mark your
PDAs, walls, ceilings and calendars:

For months where
we don't have a BoQ (or even when we do), we can all meet up at the Haas
Alumni Network (San Francisco Chapter) Bars of the Month that are
organized monthly. You should be getting those e-mails via subscribing
to the alumni alias via the Haas Alumni Portal. For more HAN-SF
info, go here:

Also, the South Bay and East
Bay chapters hold social events from time to time.
Stay tuned to your e-mails for that.

For all you SF locals or for
those who want to stay in the know, don't forget to subscribe to the all
the relevant Haas e-mail lists by going to the Alumni
Portal and clicking the E-mail Lists link.
Look out for the new Haas-Bayarea-MBA02 list which will be used to
announce local events, especially designed to limit spam for those who
cannot attend local events.
The
Alumni Portal will also allow
you to
update your alumni contact info.
