  Challenge 4 Charity

WHAT IS C4C?

Challenge for Charity is an organization that aims to engage the entire Haas community in select charitable causes and to promote social responsibility as a priority of future business leaders.

We seek to accomplish this objective in two ways:

    * Facilitating volunteer opportunities through select charities - Special Olympics and Alameda Point Collaborative
    * Fundraising for these organizations through fabulous and fun social events like the Halloween Party Charity Auction and more...
Ultimately, C4C exists as part of a consortium of eight West Coast business schools competing over the course of each year to accumulate volunteer hours and raise money. The culmination of the year’s efforts is the Sports Weekend in April, when over 1,000 MBA students engage in more than 30 sports. One school wins the coveted Golden Briefcase Award based on the best total score across three measures: fundraising, volunteerism, and the sports competition.

WHAT DOES “JOINING” C4C MEAN?

First, it means giving your time, spirit and energy to worthy causes in the Bay Area by both helping organize fundraising/volunteering events and attending these events. Second, it means helping us raise money when you attend and participate in C4C events. We use this money to put on future events that raise donations and offer you fun social activities. To participate in Sports Weekend in April, you must have completed 5 hours of volunteering, 3 of which were earned during O-week Community Day.
