What: Volunteer During Sports Weekend
When: Friday - Saturday, April 17-18, 2009, 8:00 am - 11 pm

Volunteering activities during Sports Weeekend. Must sign up BEFORE April 13th to volunteer!!
FRIDAY
1) Registration (2 hrs, 3 people): Check registered students into the event. Dispense food/drink bracelets.
2) Friday Night Party Gate Monitor (1 hr, 1 person): Check ID's at the door, must be sober during your shift.
3) Friday Night Party Sober Monitor (4 hrs, 1 person): Generally monitor things, help people who need it, notify leaders of problems. Must be sober the entire party.
4) Friday Bowling Sober Monitor (4 hrs, 1 person): Generally monitor things, help people who need it, notify leaders of problems. Must be sober the entire time.
SATURDAY
1) Sports Coordinator (3-4hrs, 1 person): Oversee scoring, rules enforcement, refing of sports events
2) Village / Daytime Food (2 hrs, 2 people): Answer questions, unload food & coordinate meal service, help as necessary
3) Saturday Party Sober Monitor (5 hrs, 1 person): Generally monitor things, help people who need it, notify leaders of problems. Must be sober the entire party.
4) Saturday Night Party Cleanup (1 hr, 1 person): Self explanatory, must be reasonably sober....

Help spread the word about C4C Sports Weekend! You'll be responsible for providing information about the weekend to people who are interested in participating.
Captains - this is a great way to recruit team members!
Volunteers will be required to set up a table w/ C4C banner (found in the Club Room, in the MBA lounge) in the Haas Courtyard.

What: Alameda Point Collaborative Tutoring

- Ages 6-12: Monday - Thursday, 3:30-5:00pm
- Ages 12 & Up: Monday & Tuesday, 5:30pm - 8:30pm

The APC is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers who can provide encouragement and consistent support for children and youth who come into the Homework Room for help. For younger children, the main role of a homework helper is to bring a can-do attitude and encourage students. Helpers volunteer between one and four hours per week.
Older students need tutors to help them with portfolio projects, math, science, history, English and more. After an initial training, tutors are paired with students and can arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

Ploughshares Nursery always needs volunteers to help with plant propagation, transplanting, organizing, preparing greenhouses for winter use, general maintenance (including planting, seed saving, fertilizing and pruning of our demonstration gardens), retail sales (must have considerable knowledge of or willingness to learn CA native, drought tolerant, and edible plants), labeling plants, updating plant displays and weeding.

What: Growing Youth Project (GYP) Volunteer
When: Mon, Wed & Thurs 4:00-7:00pm, Sat 9:00-3:00pm (Flexible scheduling for long-term projects and internships)

Volunteers work with the GYP team of youth, and often take on long-term projects (e.g. design and install descriptive signage at the GYP farm and garden, host classes to help youth to design and maintain their website, etc.). Volunteers can also work with youth at the community garden or on the GYP farm. Some useful skills/experience are:
