Entrant FAQ

Teams

Q: Can multiple teams from one school apply?

A: Although multiple teams from a single school can apply, preference will be given to one team per school in order to allow for representation of as many different schools as possible.  Also note that individual students can only apply as part of one team.

Q: Are there any restrictions on team composition?

A: Teams must consist of four members, and at least two members must be MBA students.  The remaining two spots can be either MBA students or students from other graduate programs within the same university.  All members must be currently enrolled students.

Q: One of our teammates will no longer be able to participate.  May we make a substitution?

A: Of course!  Please send an email to HaasEducationClub@gmail.com with the details of your substitution, including the resume(s) of all requested team substitutes.  Substitutes are expected to meet all requirements for team entry.

Logistics

Q: When will travel information be posted?

A: Suggestions for travel and lodging will be posted as soon as teams are selected.

Q: What is the schedule for the days of the competition?

A: While the exact schedule has not been completely finalized, we expect that team registration will begin by 10am and opening ceremonies to occur around noon on Friday, November 20. In addition, closing ceremonies will be completed around 8pm on Saturday, November 21.

Q: For what days should I book my flight in and out of California?

A: Given our schedule, a Thursday night stay is not required. If you are traveling from the east coast, you may be able to get an early morning flight that will have you in town in time. For traveling home, feel free to book flights back after about 10pm Saturday, or stay the extra night and enjoy San Francisco!

Q: What expenses will participants be expected to cover?

A: If your team is selected, you will be responsible for covering your own lodging and travel expenses, along with a $250 registration fee (this is per team, not per student).  The competition will be providing the majority of your meals.
