Sales and Trading is a division of the Investment Banking departments at all of the major Investment Banks. It is an exciting path to investigate for anyone interested in a finance career. Unfortunately, all of the Sales and Trading Associate internships are based in New York. Because a small number of MBA students on the west coast actually desire to move east, firms do not recruit for Sales and Trading internships at Haas.
The goal of the Sales and Trading Committee is to provide information to any interested Haas students about the different areas in Sales and Trading and to help them network with firms if they are interested in a Sales and Trading internship or full time position.

| Melissa started at Haas with a military background and zero experience in the finance world. Through networking with alumni from both Haas and her undergraduate school, she secured a summer internship in Sales and Trading at Credit Suisse Group in New York. She participated in a rotational program, observing six different trading desks across both the Equity and Fixed Income departments. Melissa’s goal is to mentor any Haas students who are interested in Sales and Trading, as it is not a typical path to take through the recruiting process. |
