On November 4, 2010, The Fisher Center for Management and Technology sponsored an executive seminar entitled: SaaS, Cloud, and Beyond: The Emergence of the Virtual Enterprise. Speakers included the CIO of Facebook, the ex-President of Oracle-on-Demand, the researcher who was instrumental in the development of RISC architecture, RAID storage, and now the technical foundations of The Cloud, and the President Emeritus of The Institute For The Future.

Topics included: The Cloud: Winners & Losers, a Cloud Action Plan, Obstacles & Opportunities, Organizational Innovation, the Cloud and the growing integration of the global economy, emerging Business Models for a Virtual World, The Cloud: CIO/CTO/CEO perspectives.

 

The Fisher Center for Management and Technology and the Center for CIO Leadership co-sponsored: The CIO Leadership Salon: CIOs: Leaders of Change, Drivers of Innovation, on Tuesday, October 6, 2009.


This invitation-only Salon featured two globally prominent IT thought leaders and visionaries with a set of unique perspectives as keynote speakers: Bruce J. Rogow, previously EVP for Global Research at Gartner, and Hal R. Varian, Google’s Chief Economist and co-author of “Information Rules: A Strategic Guide to the Network Economy”.  


The event also included an interactive panel featuring, Robert Fort, CIO & Vice President of Information Technology, Virgin Entertainment Group, North America; Marina Levinson, SVP & CIO, Network Appliance; Art Money, former Chief Information Officer, Department of Defense; and Todd Pierce, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Pharma North America, Genentech.
