I have to explain one thing. This seminar is not like a course in history or arithmetic, where your teacher tells you the answers and hopes that you will end up understanding why the answers are correct.

That is not what learning ethics is about. Learning ethics is the attempt to understand how human beings should live their lives; what makes life worth living. The attempt to learn the meaning of human life is based in part on this priciple:

CONFUSION IS THE ESSENCE OF LEARNING

If you hate to be confused, bear up for awhile. It is much like learning how to play the piano, or tennis, or rowing a boat; there is confusion in all of these attempts.
