SOME SUGGESTED OUTCOMES OF THIS EXPERIMENTAL SEMINAR: prepared by P. T. H.
I
To enrich the understanding and wisdom of the participants
II
To produce learning resources for university and high school students pecifically, we want to support current educational practice in ethical, critical and systems thinking with contributions - by West and others - to the field of systems epistemology as it applies to the meta-subjects of research, design and management.)
III
To contribute to a chapter in West's upcoming autobiography and to collaborate on the production of materials suitable for various forms of publishing
IV
To become more familiar with the limits and opportunities within Internet technologies as supplemental tools to support learning experiences like this seminar; (Specifically we want seminar participants to offer both critical reviews and supportive suggestions re: our use of Internet technologies in this seminar and the gEm website < http://faculty.haas.berkeley.edu/gem >. The gEm website describes a few projects that are currently being developed; questions and/or suggestions from seminar participants are most welcome.)
V
To become better prepared to invite young people to participate in a call-for-websites contest. This contest will involve the display of global ethical management (gEm) challenges that should be studied as part of our intention to design a gift for future generations. (Specifically, this call-for-websites contest is a web-based variation of a traditional call-for-papers; it is comparable to the factnet on poverty and starvation that West describes in his first request to seminar participants for written responses, following the list of invitees).
