2007 EVENTS |
2007 BioEntrepreneurship Roundtable and
Venture Capital Forum |
| Date: |
November 29, 6-9 PM |
| Location: |
Hotel Sofitel, Redwood Shores, CA |
| Description: |
The event will include a networking reception followed by a dinner
featuring our keynote speaker, Karen Talmadge, Co-Founder of Kyphon, a
medical device company currently being acquired by Medtronic for $3.9
billion. Additionally, partners at De Novo Ventures will present real cases
from startups to engage the audience in a discussion on overcoming the
challenges of building a successful life science company in the startup
environment.
BERT is organized to promote
innovation and entrepreneurship in the life sciences. By bringing together
industry and academic experts, we hope to foster meaningful discussion and
to inspire new ideas. Attendees will include venture capitalists,
entrepreneurs, attorneys, physicians, scientists, as well as alumni,
professors and graduate students from schools and departments across UC
Berkeley, UCSF, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Our event was completely sold out last year, so you are encouraged to
register, via the following link, as soon as possible. Registration will
close on November 21, 2007; tickets for industry experts will be $85,
tickets for students will be $45 and tickets for Haas students will be $35.

On February 3,
2007, Haas Healthcare and BioBusiness hosted the inaugural
HAAS HEALTHCARE CONFERENCE.
We are planning
on having our annual “Spring Mixer” in San Francisco on Thursday, April 19
(likely from 6-8pm or so). This event will be a bit more casual than last
spring’s successful mixer but will be structured to facilitate discussions
between students and relevant industry attendees making the event valuable to
all.
In addition to
the Spring Mixer, we will host several other events to facilitate discussion
regarding the latest developments in the healthcare and biotech industries as
well as to encourage networking between Haas students, business professionals,
and members of the greater Bay Area academic community. Future H2B2 events will
include reiterations of the following events that Healthcare@Haas and the
Berkeley BioBusiness Association hosted last year:
