Kimberly Randle, Co-President

Kimberly is a second-year MBA and MPH student at UC Berkeley. A California native, Kimberly returns to the west coast after working in Washington, D.C. for The Advisory Board Company, where she provided best practice research and support to hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide. Her former professional experiences also include four years in marketing and advertising for a communications firm that partnered with pharmaceutical and biotech companies in California. She received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Outside of healthcare, Kimberly is involved in the Women In Leadership Club and is the 2009 WIL Retreat Co-Chair. Outside of Haas, she enjoys hiking, traveling whenever she can, dancing, and being with friends and family.

 


Brian Hitt, Co-President

Brian is second year student enrolled in the MBA/MPH dual degree program at the Haas School of Business and the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.  Prior to graduate school, Brian worked for five years at Triage Consulting Group – a small financial healthcare consulting firm based in San Francisco.  While at Triage, Brian managed revenue recovery and process improvement projects at hospitals across the Western United States.   Brian is currently the Co-President of the Haas Healthcare Association, VP of Events for the Education Leadership Club and the VP of Finance for the Haas Rugby Club.  Brian holds a BA in Business Economics with a Minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles.  In his free time Brian enjoys running, swimming and watching the Wire. 

 


Paula Keebler, Co-VP Careers

Paula is currently enrolled in the MBA/MPH program at UC Berkeley and will graduate in December 2010. Before returning to graduate school Paula worked at Gilead Sciences in Financial Planning & Analysis, where she managed the budgeting and financial planning processes for the Cardiovascular R&D Therapeutic Area. Prior to Gilead, Paula worked for several years at Ernst & Young, providing audit services to Genentech and other life science clients. Paula holds a B.A. in Business Economics and a Spanish Minor from UCLA and a M.S. of Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. In her free time she enjoys traveling, wine tasting, snowboarding and running.

 


Renita Sinn, Co-VP Careers

Renita Sinn is currently pursuing an MBA/MPH student at the Haas School of Business. Immediately prior to coming to Haas, Renita spent four years at Alta Partners, a life-sciences venture capital firm, where she was responsible for analyzing portfolio exit strategies, generating fund performance metrics, and leading the financial reporting process. Renita also spent four years at Ernst & Young, LLC, as a senior assurance associate focused on financial servicess clients.

 

 

 


Shauli Raz, VP Marketing

Shauli is a second-year MBA candidate in the Haas School of Business, class of 2010. Prior to Hass he was working as a medical device startup consultant, focusing mainly on vascular devices. Shauli was responsible for the company's due-diligence process, business-plan and fundraising advising and clinical studies. Shauli holds a Master degree in Biotechnology Engineering from Ben-Gurion University, Israel. At Haas, Shauli acts as the VP of Marketing for the Haas Healthcare Association.  

 

 

 


Shiela Baxter, VP School of Public Health

Sheila is a a second year MPH student concentrating in Health Policy and Management. She spent her summer fellowship working for Harvard's Council of Women World Leaders in Apia, Samoa. While in Samoa, she worked on various policies for the Ministry of Health of Samoa and the World Health Organization. Her passion for public health stemmed from her experience living in Europe. She volunteered her time helping the Calcutta nuns of Madrid, Spain, tend to ostracized women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

She also spent time in South Africa and Namibia working on policy measures with the United Embassy on HIV prevention.  After returning to the States, she continued her HIV work as an HIV test counselor for the AIDS Health Project at UCSF. Her aspiration for the future is to get a doctorate in Public Policy and implement this degree in an organization like the United Nations. Her interests outside work/school involve playing soccer, traveling and being an avid and devoted Cal football fan. Go Bears!

 


Stephanie Roy, Co-VP Academics

Stephanie attended the University of Chicago, where she earned a BA in Biological Science and worked in a neurophysiolgy lab studying eye reflexes in primates. After graduation, she moved to Tampa, Florida to work for Raymond James & Associates, a middle-market investment bank.  While at Raymond James, she worked for two years in investment banking and for two years in equity reesearch, covering the medical device sector.  After four years in Tampa, she chose to come to Haas to deepen her understanding of the healthcare sector and explore the vibrant Bay Area. In addition to being the VP of Academics for the Haas Healthcare Association, Stephanie is Co-chair of 2010 Women in Leadership Conference. She is also a member of Challenge 4 Charity and Redwoods@Haas. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring San Francisco, and spending time with her husband, cats, and friends.

 


Veronica Briggs, Co-VP Academics

Veronica is a second year in the Haas School of Business dual Master in Business, Master in Public Health program.  She received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Pitzer College, after which she moved to San Francisco to work at Blue Shield of California.  She worked at Blue Shield of California for approximately five years in a variety of positions, but lastly as Senior Business Management Analyst in their Specialty Benefits division.  This role allowed her to gain exposure to a wide variety of areas of the company in both a project and product management capacity.  She helped move the company’s product strategy forward through improved administrative procedures and product launches.  Veronica also had the opportunity half-way through her tenure at Blue Shield to travel to Nepal and work as a Health Education volunteer, where she organized and delivered health education seminars to Kathmandu communities.  Post-MBA, Veronica hopes to work in healthcare consulting and corporate strategy.

 


Alex White, Co-VP Healthcare Conference

Alex came to Haas after seven years of experience in the areas of auditing (both internal and external) and fraud prevention and detection, primarily supporting healthcare payers.  As an experienced manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Advisory practice, Alex assisted PwC clients to identify and assess fraud, misconduct and reputation risks and to design and implement antifraud programs and controls.  Alex was fascinated by the many challenges confronting his clients and wanted to expand his knowledge and perspective of the healthcare industry beyond his work experience, which drew him to the dual-degree MBA/MPH program at UC Berkeley.  As co-chair of the 2010 Haas Business of Healthcare Conference, Alex is looking forward to the challenge of further expanding the conference’s reach and reputation as it enters its fourth year.  Alex received his B.S. in business administration from Union University.  In his free time, Alex enjoys scuba diving and home remodeling.

 


Thomas MeMennamin, Co-VP Healthcare Conference

Thomas is currently pursuing his MBA and MPH at UC Berkeley and will graduate in 2010. Prior to graduate school, Thomas worked at Management Sciences for Health, a Cambridge, MA-based global health not-for-profit management consulting firm where he was responsible for project oversight of various country-based and virtual management and leadership programs in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. At Haas, Thomas is concentrating in health management and corporate social responsibility and is active in the Haas Healthcare Association, the Haas Net Impact Chapter, and Global Initiatives at Haas. He graduated from Middlebury College with a dual bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys running, yoga, Spanish, and international travel.

 


Paulo da Costa, VP Finance

Paulo is a member of the MBA class of 2010, and his academic focus is strategy within the life sciences. Prior to Haas, Paulo spent four years working as a financial consultant to healthcare institutions. He held the role of project manager and served as the direct liaison to various finance and managed care professionals. Paulo has a BS from Cornell University and enjoys running and listening to live music.
