How Do I Configure Outlook 2003 to Search the Haas Directory?
Once you are done configuring LDAP Directory Services on your Outlook Client you will be able to look up any Haas user's
e-mail address(es) by simply doing a search through your Outlook Address Book.

a. To set up your Haas Directory, open Outlook 2003 and go to Tools > E-Mail Accounts
b. Select the radio button "Add a new directory or address book".

At the Directory Service (LDAP) Settings window, enter the following information:
a. Server Information:
Server Name: haas.berkeley.edu
b. Logon Information:
Click the box "This server requires me to log on", then enter your Haas username and password.
User Name: your Haas username
Password: your e-mail password

Click the More Settings button.

a. The window below warning you that you will need to restart Outlook in order for these changes to take place
will appear.
b. Click OK to continue.

At the next window enter the following:
a. The Display Name should be: Haas Directory Service
b. Under Connection Details :
Port : 636
c. The "Use Secure Sockets Layer" box should be checked.
d. Click the Search tab.

Under the Search Tab, make sure the following settings are configured.
a. Server Settings:
Search timeout in seconds: 60
Specify the maximum number of entries you wish to return after a successful search: 100
b. Search Options:
Search base: o=passwd
c. Click Apply, OK, then Next, and Finish.
d. Close Outlook and Open it again so that the above changes take place.
e. That's It! You can now search for someone's e-mail address through Outlook!
