To setup the Calnet Directory, or any new address book, we must open our e-mail account options. To do this,
open the "Tools" menu and select "Options..."

Outlook warns you that you will not be able to view your address book until you restart the application again. Click
OK.

Under "Display Name" type in a name that you would like to see when searching your address book, we suggest
CalNet Directory. Make sure that under Connection Details the port is 389 and check the box "Use Secure
Sockets Layer". Then click on the tab that says "Search"

The server must search in the right location for the address book that you would like to access. Under Search
Base select the radio button Custom, then type: ou=people,dc=berkeley,dc=edu, click OK, and when this
window closes click Next.

Usually with the Outlook Calnet Directory you cannot search directly on the directory, you must do an Advanced
Find to locate the person, email address, phone number, etc... that you are looking for. So click on Advanced
Find to start your search.

Enter your search criteria in the fields provided and click OK. Remember that the Calnet Directory is large. The
more specific you are the faster you will find what you are looking for. For example you will get faster results if
you type a first and last name, than just a common name or last name like "Smith". We used Smith as an
example. Click OK.

Large Searches
If you perform a search that has many results you will most likely get a pop-up that says that only some of the
results will be displayed, click OK.
Note: The default number of searches that will be returned is 100. If you wish to increase this amount, see Step
8, and change the number under "Specify the maximum number of entries you want to return after a
successful search" to a higher quantity.
