Haas Hedge Fund

The Haas School of Business recently launched the Haas Hedge Fund. This initiative allows students to create and implement an investment strategy using real money.

The Haas Hedge Fund does not have a prescribed investment strategy--we believe there are many ways to uncover and exploit market inefficiencies, and it is up to each student team to develop an innovative investment strategy. To assist with this process, students are paired with a faculty mentor.

After the strategies are formulated and backtested, the student teams compete for a capital allocation in front of an outside board comprised of senior investment professionals.

The student teams then invest their capital allocations, and at the end of the semester, the teams evaluate their results.
