  HAAS TECHNOLOGY CLUB

Academics

The HTC club serves to complement the academic pursuits of its members. Working together with the faculty and administration as well as our connections in the industry, there are many opportunities for a holistic learning experience:

Tech Speaker Series

The beauty of being one of the strongest business schools when it comes to technology, is having the connections we do. And every year, we leverage this advantage to have leaders of the industry come to talk to our students about the latest and greatest. It's a dynamic industry, and we want to adapt with it. For instance, this year we plan to have speakers talk about topics such as social networks, haptic technology as well as emerging advances in the field of material science and nanotechnology.

Tech Elective Courses

Being at the centre of Silicon Valley, you can't help but realize the importance of technology in today's business. The Berkeley MBA has programs which not only helps give an overview, but also an opportunity to dive deeper into areas of specialization which are of interest.

Topics would range from Wireless Technology to Information-based Marketing, all the way to Life as a Tech Entrepreneur. Students will also have the opportunity to work together with faculty to create their own courses, either as a Student-Initiated Course or an Independent Study even with a external organization. As such, the electives at Haas are almost limitless in their depth and breadth, and it almost becomes a challenge deciding which courses NOT to take.

HTC has the resources to assist their members when choosing their electives or field of study, to make the most out of their time at Haas.

The Management of Technology (MOT) Program

The Management of Technology (MOT) Program, established in 1989, is a joint effort between the College of Engineering (COE), the Haas School of Business, and the School of Information (SI) at the University of California, Berkeley. MOT is the most popular interdisciplinary program at UC Berkeley, with classes and fellowship programs made up of roughly an equal number of Haas MBAs and COE and SI Masters and PhD students. An associated MOT Certificate Program allows graduate students to specialize in the Management of Technology as they obtain their degrees.

One of the most popular Certificates for Haas MBA's, you can learn more about the program here.
