Brenda Castillo, President

Brenda is a fourth year at UC Berkeley and she is pursuing a simultaneous degree in Business Administration and PEIS. Brenda was born in Mexico City. Her main goal has been to become the first in her family to obtain a college degree and obtain an MBA at one of the top business schools in the nation. Brenda has been involved in LBSA since her freshmen year and has held numerous board positions such as VP of Alumni Affairs and VP of Professional Development. As LBSA President, Brenda wants to continue LBSA's mission of preparing college students become competitive players before they enter the business world to ensure their future career success. She hopes to accomplish this goal by implementing new professional development programs, MBA sessions, and alumni events in the year 2008-2009

 

 

Ashley Carrick, VP of Finance

Ashley was born in Chicago and is currently a Junior. She is a Business Administration major that plans to concentrate in either finance or accounting. Ashley has interned at Google Inc for two summers in the finance department. This is Ashley's second year on the board as VP of Finance. She hopes to continue her dedication to LBSA through this position and hopes to broaden new opportunities for LBSA members. On her free time, Ashley enjoys to travel to South America to see her family. Recently, Ashley's new interests include kayaking and salsa dancing.

 

 

 

Rosalie Ennes, Senior Vice President of External Affairs

Rosalie Ennes is a fourth year at Cal. She is double majoring in Business Administration and Latin American Studies. Born and raised in San Jose, Rosalie graduated from San Jose High in 2005. Her passion for traveling has taken her to various countries, including a semester in Spain and a summer in Portugal. She has been involved in LBSA since her freshman year at Cal and has held the position of Co-Chair of Marketing before holding her current position as Senior Vice President of External Affairs. This year, Rosalie plans to emphasize open and friendly lines of communication with sponsors, making sure that LBSA thrives and becomes a well-known organization on campus through weekly professional events and LBSA’s annual Career Fair. Rosalie plans to work in audit upon graduation, with aspirations to become a business leader in Latin America.

 

Elizabeth R. Padilla, VP of Alumni Relations  

Elizabeth Padilla will be going into her 3rd year at the University of California, Berkeley. She intends to major in Political Economy of Industrial Societies, focusing on Business Relations and minor in Education. She was born in Daly City, CA. Coming to Cal as a Latina pursuing a career in business, Elizabeth was excited to find the Latino Business Student Association during her first semester as a freshman. She took on the role of Sponsorship Account Executive for the Fall 2007 LBSA Career Fair. During the 2008-2009 school year she will serve as LBSA’s VP of Alumni Relations. She hopes to strengthen bonds between Alumni and current LBSA members in order to establish a strong network that will provide valuable resources and a familial level of comfort. On her spare time she enjoys dancing, going out to eat, and spending time with friends and family.

 

 

Jonah Loera, Senior VP of Internal Affairs

Jonah Loera is a 4th year student at UC Berkeley serving as Senior Vice President of Internal Affairs for the 2008-2009 school year. He has been involved in LBSA since his freshman year and has held the positions of SVP of External Affairs, Historian and VP of Community Affairs in the past. Now in his final year, Jonah’s primary goal is to establish connections and create relationships with various campus organizations to produce synergistic results. He also plans to immerse LBSA members into the Raza community at Cal through involvement in Latino-focused community outreach. Accepted to the Haas School of Business in 2007, Jonah has interned with LBSA Platinum sponsors Deloitte and Chevron in past summers. He is also President of Gamma Zeta Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a Latino interest fraternity aimed towards community service and academic excellence. Jonah intends to pursue a career in public accounting for one of the Big 4 firms with the intent of earning his CPA certification.

 

 

Guido Consenza, Marketing Co-Chair

Guido was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1988. He moved to the United States when he was 2 years old and has lived in the San Fernando Valley since moving. After graduating from Crespi Carmelite High School, in Encino, Guido decided to attend UC Berkeley. His intended major is Economics. Guido is currently a 3rd year and has been a member of LBSA since his first semester at Cal. During the second semester of his 1st year, Guido served as co chairman of the marketing committee. Last year, he served as the Executive Administrator and this semester, he is once again a marketing co-chair. Guido hopes to help LBSA grow and become a well-known association at UC Berkeley. Guido’s hobbies include playing intramural soccer and going to the movies.

 

 

Alice Perez, Marketing Co-Chair

Alicia is a second year Cal student and an intended major in Mass Communications. She is from the Bay Area and is proud to attend the University of California, Berkeley. She attended Deer Valley High School where she was involved with HOSA, swimming, and a large variety of other clubs and activities. As part of LBSA, she has contributed to the human resources committee as well as the community service committee. She plans to work in the marketing industry when she graduates. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys baking, spending time with family, and reading.

 

 

 

 

Janet Ruvalcaba, Executive Administrator

Janet Ruvalcaba was born and raised in Ontario, CA alongside her four brothers Richard, Hector, Randy and Rury all of which have helped shape her to the person she is today. As a third year at CAL, double majoring in Latin American Studies and Political Economy of Industrial Societies, she hopes to one day work with the FBI, CIA or any other international affairs related field. Serving as the Fall ‘08 Marketing Co-Chair, she hopes to dramatically increase membership as well as increase the network within the business professionals. In addition she hopes to contribute to the organization’s overall goal that is of having LBSA be recognized as the premier business organization at UC Berkeley that transition’s its members to corporate America.

 

 

 

Gracie Esparza, Director of National Relations

Gracie Esparza is a 3rd year UC Berkeley student from Los Angeles, California. She intends to major in PEIS with a minor in Spanish. She has been heavily involved with LBSA for 2 years not only as a committee member for various positions but also as a VP of Social Affairs. Last year, Gracie worked to organize and prepare LBSA's 10th year anniversary banquet. This year she is taking charge of the position of Director of National Relations, for in this manner, Gracie hopes to further UC Berkeley's LBSA chapter's relationship with other associations such as ALPFA, NHBA, and surrounding business organizations. Alongside this goal, she hopes to create a line of communication with other LBSA chapters in order to learn from one another. On her spare time, Gracie enjoys studying and getting good grades.

 

 

 

Uriah Buscovich, VP of Professional Development

Uriah is a fourth year junior at Cal and is a business administration major. He was born in New York, New York. He grew up 20 minutes from campus (from age 6 to present) in San Leandro, California. He went to a local Catholic school in Oakland, California (Bishop O’Bowd High School). He has been with LBSA for two semesters. Uriah says “We all were accepted to UC Berkeley for one reason or another, but one thing we all had in common was a phenomenal academic record and a work ethic to go along with it. Now that we're here, he wants to stress how important it is to maintain exceptional grades and expect a level of academic success while in school. Currently, he is employed at the Recreational Sports Facility and until recently was a lifeguard with the East Bay Regional Park District. He likes to think of himself as a positive person who thrives on enthusiasm.

Isao Osuga, VP of Community Affairs

Isao is a third year at Cal. He is an Economics major. He was born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He lives in Mexico City for 11 years. He then moved to Tijuana and finally to San Diego where he attended Southwestern Community College. He transferred to Cal Spring of 2007. He joined LBSA last semester and was involved with the finance committee. Now he is happy to be the VP of Finance. He would like to continue the excellent job the previous VP of Finance did and he plans to budget all LBSA events efficiently by analyzing and maximizing opportunities to have fun and contribute to the personal growth of all LBSA members. Isao worked for a marketing research company in San Diego for three years. This summer he interned at Memory Ten, a company that sells computer memory and MAC accessories. He is very passionate about soccer. He plays it on the Play Station and he watches it every weekend. He plays whenever he can.



Desirae Tovar, VP of Social Affairs

Desirae Tovar was born in Los Angeles, California on May 1, 1987. She lived in Los Angeles until she was four years old when she moved to Ontario, California with her family. She is currently a fourth year with intended majors of Public Health and Political Economy of Industrial Societies. This is her third year involved in LBSA, and as VP of Social Affairs she is committed to plan some awesome parties for LBSA. Through LBSA, she hopes of reaching out to not only the Latino community but people of all ethnic backgrounds.

 

 

 

Richard Garcia, Director of Operations

Richard Garcia is from Altadena, CA and is entering his sophomore year at University of California, Berkeley. As of now, Richard intends to double major in Economics and Operations Research and Management Science. Richard has been involved in LBSA for two semesters, has been part of the Community Affairs and Marketing Committees, and will now be on the board as the Director of Operations. Beyond LBSA, Richard has been involved in the Professional Development Program (PDP), SEO Career Program, Leaders Engaging Active Dialogue (LEAD), and was recently an INROADS intern with City National Bank in the Cash Management Department as an Operations Intern. Richard enjoys playing basketball, going camping, listening to music, and keeping up to date on recent movies.

 

 

Myrna Reynoso, Historian

Myrna Reynoso is enterering her second year at Cal. She is a Political Economy of Industrial Societies major and plans to pursue a minor in Japanese. She was born and raised in Orange, California but moved to Ventura, California prior to her freshman year of high school. During her first year at Cal, she was involved in the SHINE Youth Mentorship Program where she served as a coordinator for the program. This fall will be her third semester being involved in LBSA, holding the historian position. Before being elected on the board, Myrna was a part of a variety of committees, where she acquired skills that will help her serve on the board. As historian, her goal is to portray LBSA as the premier diverse business organization that it is by constructing an scrapbook and Latino Business Journal that gives the public a comprehensive vision of what LBSA is all about. Myrna enjoys cooking and learning new languages on her spare time.

 

Francisco Quiroz, Information Technology Operator

Francisco was born in Houston, Texas, although he lived for the most part in Mexico and Venezuela until attending high school in San Diego, CA. He is a prospective PEIS and accounting major. He has been a part of LBSA since last semester as a committee member for Social Affairs. Now as IT Operator, he hopes to create an accessible, adaptable, and informative web site for the club. By Francisco joined LBSA for the great advancement opportunities it represented, since thanks to his involvement, he had the opportunity to attend the 2008 ALPFA convention this summer. In his free time, Francisco enjoys dancing and photography.

 

 

Crystal Moreno, VP of Academic Affairs

Crystal Moreno was born in San Bernardino, California and is currently a
sophomore. Crystal is first generation American as well as the first in
her family to attend college. She is a pre-Business Administration major
and plans to apply to the Haas School of Business next year. Her main goal is to attend an Ivy League college and become a corporate lawyer. This past summer Crystal interned with Congressman Joe Baca as well as with Target under their Executive Team Leader program. This is Crystal’s first semester on the board as VP of Academic Affairs. She plans to continue her extensive dedication to LBSA and wants to inspire all Latina’s to pursue their goals in life. During her free time, Crystal plays tennis, soccer, and enjoys participating in community service projects.
