What is “active” status?
Active status gives an individual the right to benefit from all resources that LBSA provides to its members.
What are the benefits of being an active member?
1. Eligibility to run for a position on the LBSA Board
2. Access to LBSA Academic Records (old exams, study guides, etc)
3. Is appointed an LBSA Mentor
4. Eligibility to be appointed an LBSA Alumni Mentor
5. Receives restricted e-mails (i.e. LBSA Professional Digest)
6. Resume is included in the LBSA Resume book
7. Receives discounts at LBSA social events and paraphernalia
8. Has priority for LBSA scholarships, sponsorship for conferences, etc…
9. Eligibility to vote at LBSA Elections
10. And more!
How do you become an active member?
1. A new LBSA member is required to pay a one time fee of $ 25, this fee automatically gives an individual active status for one academic year
2. To renew active membership, a member is required to remain involved in LBSA through ONE of the following activities:
1. Is a member of the LBSA Board
2. Is a member of a committee
3. Is an LBSA Mentor
4. Assists in an event/activity sponsored or co-sponsored by LBSA
5. Attends 50% of the semester events, not including socials
3. A decision may be made by the President to determine whether a member can be granted an active status if he/she does not fulfill one of the requirements above
4. Active membership is renewed for each academic year
