Resumes
LBSA members! Resumes have been due. Nevertheless, its of utmost importance to have a presentable resume for those career fairs and other internship opportunities. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind when writing or editing them:
-Remember to send them in PDF format! Its much more presentable that way.
-Establish your focus: Evaluate your skills, interests, value, and goals.Do not state your objective on your resumeYour focus, though not directly stated, should be the resume’s unifying idea.
-Determine the critical core skills for your career focus
-Consult a company’s recruiting literature or talk to someone working in that field to identify core skills for a given position.
-Prioritize your accomplishments, decide which ones you will include on your resume (and, consequently, may be asked to discuss during an interview).
-Do not summarize too many experiences as you run the risk that the most critical ones may be overlooked
Be sure to go over the Wells Fargo Slideshow for further guidelines on how to build your resume!
