Sara Nelson, Co-President

Sara is a proud Texan, having attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas where she majored in Marketing and French. After school, Sara joined the Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa as a small business development volunteer. There, she consulted with local businesses, taught accounting and financial planning courses, wrote a marketing course in French, hosted a radio show, and mentored girls at the local high school. Upon return to the states and prior to business school, she was an online brand manager at Dell. After her IBD experience in Zambia, Sara spent her summer as an Associate Marketing Manager Intern at E. & J. Gallo Winery in Modesto, CA.  After Haas, Sara plans to pursue a career in Brand Management at a consumer packaged goods company.  In addition to the Marketing Club, Sara is an officer for WIL, a career coach for the CPG industry, and a leader in the Culinary Club. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, entertaining, traveling, hiking and reading.

   
 

Jacqueline Yuen, Co-President

Jacqueline grew up between Hong Kong and Irvine, California.  She graduated with her B.S. In Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and is a Registered Dietitian.  After school, she worked on the East Coast for WIC and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.  She then moved to San Francisco to work for On Lok Lifeways as a dietitian and then Nutrition Department Manager.  In this role, she managed 25 direct reports and all aspects of foodservice operations for the chain of nine adult day health centers in the Bay Area.  Jacqueline spent her summer at Del Monte Foods as an Associate Marketing Manager and hopes to leverage her MBA experience to switch into a career in brand management for a consumer packaged goods company.  Jacqueline is also co-chair for organizing Class of 2011’s Orientation Week and is a Haas admissions interviewer.  Jacqueline is an avid snowboarder, is obsessed with cupcakes and recently married her college sweetheart Alvin Chan in Costa Rica.

 
 

Lindsay Brown, VP Communications

Lindsay was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA.  She attended Duke University where she graduated magna cum laude in Art History and Markets & Management.  Subsequently, Lindsay worked at a contemporary art gallery, Gagosian Gallery, before making a career transition to management consulting at The Lucas Group in Boston.  At The Lucas Group, Lindsay participated in the company’s due diligence, strategy, and government solutions practices and was promoted to Senior Associate Consultant.  Over the summer Lindsay interned at Del Monte Foods in brand management.  After Haas, Lindsay plans to pursue a career in brand management.  Lindsay is also Marketing Co-Chair of the Business Plan Competition, a committee member of the >play Digital Media Conference, and a founding member of the Sales Club. 

 
 
 

Ran Chen, VP Career Development

Prior to Business School, Ran worked 7 years in Business-2-Business marketing and sales at Philips in Vienna and Beijing. Ran gained a wide range of experience in Marketing Research, Marketing Communications, New Business Development, Cross-functional Team Management, and International Key Account Management. Ran grew up in China and Europe and speaks three languages – Chinese, German and English – fluently. She travelled to more than 30 countries and enjoys skiing and diving. In the summer Ran worked on a marketing project for the British Telecom Internet team in London.  

 

 
 

Heather Houston, VP External Community - CPG

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Heather attended U.C. Berkeley and earned a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Business Administration. After graduation, she worked for over five years at Cornerstone Research, an economic and financial consulting firm in Menlo Park, CA. Heather spent the summer as a Marketing Intern at Abbott Laboratories and is focusing her MBA on and exploring a career in marketing. She is also the VP of Marketing for the Women in Leadership (WIL) Club. In her free time, Heather loves to travel, hike, read, and enjoy great food and wine.

 
 
 

Nishma Udeshi, VP Haas Community

Nishma grew up on Long Island and later moved to New York City to attend New York University’s Stern School of Business.  After completing her Bachelors in Finance and Accounting, Nishma worked as a Certificate Public Accountant at Ernst & Young.  A wonderful experience auditing a multinational marketing information firm convinced her to pursue business school and transition her career.  At Haas, Nishma is involved with Women in Leadership and the South Asian Business Association.  She spent her summer as a Business Development intern for Basis Foods, a start-up company located in New York City.  After graduation, Nishma hopes to join the marketing department of a retail company.  She spends her free time traveling, reading, and planning her wedding.

 

 
 
 

Nick Jablonski, VP University Relations

Nick completed his undergraduate work with a dual major in marketing and television at Syracuse University.  Prior to his time at Haas, Nick worked for global advertising agency MediaVest Worldwide in New York on such clients as Activision and Sharp Electronics.  His internship was with Trilibis Mobile, working as a Marketing Manager on corporate and brand marketing.  In addition to his role in the Marketing Club, he is co-chair of the >play Digital Media Conference 2009 and President of Q@Haas.  His post-MBA plans include a marketing strategy role for a technology or media focused company.

 

 
 
 

Ornwassa Siamseranee, VP External Community - Tech

Ornwassa, or “Ob” as her friends call her, is originally from Thailand.  She finished her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Thammasat University in Thailand where she majored in Accounting.  Before Haas, she worked at Citi as Assistant Marketing Manager for consumer loan product.  During the summer of 2009, she went to Bangalore, India for her internship in corporate marketing as a part of Infosys’ InStep Global Internship Program.  After MBA, Ornwassa plans to pursue a career in marketing at a technology company.  Ornwassa enjoys travelling, cooking and reading in her free time.

 

 
 
 

Alison Zander, VP Technology

Alison was born and raised in Minnesota. She attended the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota where she majored in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies. After school, Ali joined the Finance Leadership Development program at General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At General Mills Ali had several roles in supply chain finance, corporate finance, and marketing finance.  After her IBD experience in Zambia, Ali spent her summer as an Associate Marketing Manager Intern at The Clorox Company in Oakland, CA.  After Haas, Ali plans to pursue a career in Brand Management at a consumer packaged goods company.  In addition to the Marketing Club, Ali is an officer for WIL, a career coach for the CPG industry, and a Haas admissions interviewer. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, skiing, and spending time with her husband Wade.
