Mission
The mission of the UC Berkeley Net Impact Club at the Haas School of Business is to develop and inspire a network of leaders who promote innovation and socially responsible practices that succeed in the global marketplace.
History
Net Impact is one of the largest and most active clubs at Haas. In 2003, the club merged with the Nonprofit and Public Management Club, broadening its mission and combining resources and strengthening the club's presence on campus. Now, Net Impact focuses on helping students pursue careers that promote socially responsible practices in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.
The Haas club is a local chapter of Net Impact, a national network of business school students, alumni, and other leaders using the power of business to create a sustainable economy and a just world. With nearly 100 chapters across the globe, Net Impact is an organization of nearly 10,000 MBA's and professionals, and is one of the most progressive and influential networks of MBA's in existence today.
Net Impact was previously known as Students for Responsible Business (SRB). In 1995, Haas hosted the 3rd Annual SRB National Conference. At the November 1999 National Conference held at the University of Michigan, the Haas chapter was awarded the LEAD (Leadership, Education, Action, and Development) Award, recognizing the chapter for its strength, motivation, and leadership.
