Ian Ford
President

|
Ian Ford is from
Leicester in Britain. He completed his undergrad degree in politics
at the Queen's University of Belfast in Ireland. After living for 4
years in Belfast and 5 years in Dublin, the lure of the USA was too strong
and he moved to Cambridge, MA, where he worked as a project manager for
State Street Bank. After 3 years here, Ian decided he wanted a change
of career focus and decided to get an MBA. He is now looking for a
Marketing career, in particular launching products in emerging markets.
Outside
of his MBA, Ian is totally addicted to traveling and spends nearly all his
spare money on it. If you have a spare room, and live in an interesting
place, send me an e-mail! Contact

Gary Duong
Vice President, Social

|
Born in Iowa, raised in Orange
County, CA (which is not like the show The O.C.), Gary Duong is the epitome of the All-American guy. After
completing his B.S. in Business Administration/Cinema-Television at the
University of Southern California, Gary was ready to pursue his dreams of
being a star. When that didn't work out, he spent a year at Paramount
Pictures and another 3 years at New Line Cinema working for the man.
There wasn't enough glamour in his job, so he decided to pursue his MBA
degree.
Gary is an MBA student with a focus on marketing in the digital media
space. He is also co-chair of the 2008 >Play Digital Media
Conference, an active member of the Digital Media and Entertainment Club, a
member of an IBD team going to Albania, and a GSI for undergraduates (poor
undergrads). When he's not engulfed in extracurricular activities or
ignoring class work, you can find him sitting at home watching television. Contact

Ivan
Ferko
Vice
President, Alumni Relations
|
Ivan Ferko
came to American from Australia 8 years ago during the dot com boom.
Luckily, he kept his job during the bust and after moving to Washington DC
in 2005, met his partner Ruben and decided to make the United States his
home. In those 8 years, Ivan worked for Capital
One Financial first as a programmer, but mostly as a project manager
and consultant. Ivan is back in business school for a change in career and
is looking to start his own high tech dot-com.
While not studying, Ivan is
hoping to find at least one other bear who is either studying for an MBA or
has one. He has not been successful so far. As a new transplant to the bay
area, Ivan spends most of his non-class time meeting new folks and taking
the opportunity to figure out a long term plan. Check out Ivan’s blog for more recent
news. Contact Ivan

worked full-time in Providian Financial’s IT department. Shortly after graduating from SFSU,

Jason Topel
Vice President, Admissions

|
Jason Topel was born and raised in the
suburbs of New Jersey, where he learned to appreciate big hair, strip
malls, and diners. He headed to "gorges" Ithaca, New York
for college, and graduated with a degree in operations research and
engineering from Cornell in 2001. After working in IT and operations
consulting for a couple of years, he decided to transition over to
industry, and spent three years doing project management for Barnes &
Noble in New York City.
Leaving
his East Coast roots behind, he made the big move to California to attend
Haas, where he is focusing on general management and marketing. In
addition to Q@Haas, Jason is also an officer in the Marketing Club, and is
involved in the Technology, Consulting, and Wine clubs. When he isn't
busy with school, he spends his time exploring the Bay Area, trying new
bars and restaurants, skiing (Tahoe...woo hoo!), and catching up on trashy
reality TV. Contact Jason

Amir
Zelazny
Vice President, Careers

|
Amir Zelazny
was born and raised in The Bronx, New York (Da Bronx as his homies used to
call it!). He moved to Pittsburgh, PA where he received his BS in Business
Administration at Carnegie Mellon University. He then worked for four years
at a Private Equity Asset Manager in Pittsburgh before finally realizing
that the show Queer as Folk incorrectly portrays Pittsburgh as a Gay Mecca
and so he decided to come to Berkeley to get his MBA. He is targeting roles
in either consulting or corporate finance.
At Haas, Amir is one of the
co-chairs for Judging and Sponsorship for the UC Berkeley Business Plan
Competition. He is also involved in the Consulting Club, Leadership Club,
Wine Club and Culinary Club and is working on a project to help improve the
Haas Gear Store. In his spare time, Amir enjoys going for a run in the
Berkeley hills, trying new places to eat, and drinking wine in Napa and
Sonoma (not necessarily in that order!) Contact Amir
