TIMELY AND IMPORTANT TOPICS
This year, sessions will focus on the information you need to do
business and find opportunities in today’s challenging times, including:
- UNDERSTANDING AND MANAGING REAL ESTATE FINANCE AND INVESTING RISKS
During the five years, real estate markets have experienced tumultuous, unanticipated declines, which have made the financing and investing in real estate both difficult to understand, and even more difficult to manage the associated risks. This panel will delineate various approaches to cope with investment risks as well as find appropriate funding vehicles.
- THE REAL ESTATE AND ECONOMIC OUTLOOK
Ken Rosen, Chairman of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics will deliver his timely, detailed and highly sought-after “Real Estate and Economics Forecast”.
- IS RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE OUT OF THE WOODS?
Residential real estate had its explosive boom turn to bust in a very short period of time, and became the poster child for the subprime crisis. Our panel is involved in the daily operations of residential real estate markets, and will share with you their experiences, and examine the likely changes to expect for the residential market over the next year and beyond. Of course, risk creates opportunity, if one knows and understands, and evaluates, they can advantage of the changing environment.
- AGENDA FOR FIXING HOUSING IN AMERICA
Henry Cisneros, Executive Chairman, CityView / Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will discuss the agenda for resurrecting the U.S. housing markets. Given his unique expertise and experiences, he will provide an overview of issues not normally considered in the day-to-day housing business, but this is tempered by the fact that he is in the housing business on a day-to-day basis.
- ECONOMIC REALITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE REAL ESTATE
One of the hot issues in urban real estate development is how to create and develop sustainable real estate in cities. We have assembled a panel of experts on energy efficiency, design, and environmental matters to discuss building sustainable, economically viable real estate projects.
- ASSESSING RISK AND REWARDS IN THE CURRENT REAL ESTATE MARKETS
This panel consists of a set of experts on specific real estate product types. They will focus on the current and changing nature of the Bay Area and California real estate markets by products.
