Who we are
Not Just For Hardcore Triathletes
The Haas Triathlon Club is designed to bring Haas
students together to work out in a fun, low-pressure environment.
While our members include Ironman triathletes, marathoners and swimmers
who have competed at national and international levels, we also cater to
absolute beginners who have never considered doing a triathlon before
and have not run more than 2 miles since college. The club IS focused on
anyone who wants to squeeze in some athletic activity between classes
and other commitments, and anyone who wants to learn to swim, bike or
run better. Come along and make use of some of your experienced peers.
What we do
Our goal is to get you ready to do a triathlon. Through
our
practice triathlons each month at the RSF you’ll have the chance to
see what you think of doing a real triathlon. To do the practice
triathlons you only need running clothes and a swimsuit – no bike or
wetsuit or fancy gear required.
Each semester we will have a focus race that we will point our training
towards such as the Napa Valley Triathlons. If you want to step up your
involvement with triathlon at Cal, you can join the campus wide UC
Berkeley Triathlon Team. Two Haas students helped Cal finish 2nd at the
Collegiate National Championships in 2007 and we look to bring home the
title in 2008.
