TOURNAMENTS

Annual Texas Winter Classic

Berkeley MBA reaches quarterfinals of 2006 TX Winter Classic

Every year the University of Texas McCombs School of Business hosts its "Texas Winter Classic", a soccer tournament that has become a tradition. Nearly twenty teams from around the country including Harvard, Kellogg, Wharton, Duke, Maryland, and UCLA compete in a two-day soccer event. The tournament is one of the largest sporting events among MBA schools in the United States. In addition to participating in a very competitive tournament, the teams get to experience the great things that Austin and Texas have to offer.

UCLA MBA Tournament

Berkeley MBA has a blast in LA at the 2006 tourney!

In November of 2006, the Haas team headed out to UCLA and had an outstanding showing. Unfortunately, they did not come back with any hardware, but there were plenty of exciting moments, breathtaking goals and some great hot tub action. The team looks forward to the Texas Classic in February to come out with some better results. More to come...

Berkeley MBA finished 2nd in UCLA 2005!

The Anderson School of Business (UCLA) organizes the “Anderson Cup” on the second weekend of November. About a dozen teams representing Business Schools across the country participate in it the tournament. The tournament takes place inside the UCLA central campus. 2 groups with 4 teams each are formed so 3 games are played on Saturday. Only 4 teams make it to Sunday’s second and final day, first and second places of each group.

C4C Sports Weekend

In April our legions of Haasian athletes, trivia experts (aka Cliff Clavens), cheerleaders and fans will descend upon the not-so-friendly confines of our champagne sipping, caviar slurping colleagues from across the bay. (I guess our MBA lifestyle here at Haas really isn’t that much different but it’s good for effect!) Over 250 of us are expected to spend the weekend down there, along with over 1,000 other MBAs from the 7 competing schools: Haas, University of Washington, Stanford, UCLA, UC Irvine and UC Davis. Cost: C4C Members are Free (with 6 C4C volunteer hours)! Non-members and significant others pay only $50. Cost includes: T-shirt, all-you-can-drink beer for the weekend, lunches, breakfasts, parties, and outrageous amounts of fun! For more information visit the Berkeley MBA C4C website.
