About Us:
The Undergraduate Marketing Association (UMA) at the University of
California at Berkeley is dedicated to providing a bridge between the
students and the marketing world. By creating a forum in which companies
and students may interact, we provide valuable knowledge and career
opportunities in the diverse fields of marketing.
Established in 1984, UMA has since been the marketing voice of the UC
Berkeley campus. Our members come from a variety of academic
backgrounds, including majors in English, Mass Communications,
Psychology, Computer Science and Business Administration, reflecting
the diversity of individuals which are vital to the world of Marketing.
What UMA Can Do for You: The Undergraduate Marketing Association holds a variety of events each semester targeted at helping connect students to the outside marketing world.
Speaker Panels
We invite successful marketing professionals to come talk to our members about experiences in their field. They share valuable insight into the industry, hiring practices, and give advice on how to get your foot in the door. This provides members with a great opportunity to ask questions, network, and apply for exciting internships.
Office Tours
We visit some of the Bay Area’s top advertising and public relations firms throughout the year, so members can see what the marketing world is like from the inside. One of our most popular events, office tours, are a great opportunity to network with industry professionals, drop off your resume, and land the internship you’ve always wanted.
Professor Luncheons
UMA is proud to provide our members with the opportunity to gain valuable insight from Haas marketing professors. Get to know a faculty member over a great lunch at the Faculty Club!
Resume Book
Every year, UMA collects the resumes of its members. These resumes are placed in a book which is then given to companies looking to hire our members. This is a great way to get your name out to great employers!
Resume Workshops
UMA collaborates with the Career Center to help members with their resumes and cover letters. You can learn how to create an effective resume to give you an edge in today’s competitive world.
Socials
UMA members are encouraged to get to know one another through our club socials. Activities include dinner, bowling nights, barbeques, and ice cream nights.
