About UMBA

UMBA was established in 1990 with the mission of developing the talents of minority students, in order to shape them into the business leaders of tomorrow. Over the years, we have continually strived to keep consistent to our mission by setting goals and working as a team to achieve them.

UMBA invites industry representatives to host professional development workshops at the University of California, Berkeley. Topics range from business etiquette to resume writing to interviewing. These workshops offer our members an opportunity to interact and develop relationships with professionals, as well as tools to succeed in their future endeavors. In the past, companies such as following have hosted workshops:

UMBA has maintained contact with ChevronTexaco, KPMG and Deloitte & Touche. We look forward to having these companies and many others join us in sponsoring workshops this Spring. Our members may also email the VP of Professional Affairs with suggestions about companies they would like to see involved with UMBA.

This Spring, UMBA will be having socials every two weeks, allowing members to interact in an informal setting. We hope to continue this tradition of making UMBA to become a more cohesive student group.
