Women and Wine - September 10, 2009 (7:00 - 9:00 pm)

Forté Foundation Presentation - September 21, 2009 (12:30 - 1:30 pm)
Did you know that Haas is a Forté partner school, and that as a WIL member you get special access to career resources, networking, webinars, and workshops? Join us for a presentation by Sara Nordhoff, Director of School Relations at Forté, where she will give an overview of all the resources provided by Forté. Feel free to bring your lunch!

WIL Fall Kickoff Retreat - September 26, 2009
All around Napa, meet at Cronk Gate in the morning.

First timers are in for a treat: this is one of the most unforgettable events of the year. Join your fellow WIL members for a fantastic day of food, wine, fun activities, and getting to know your fellow female peers!

Getting to 50/50 - October 1, 2009 (6:00 - 9:00pm)
Location: Wells Fargo Room.

Author Sharon Meers presents the philosophy of her book, Getting to 50/50, which describes how you can strive for work/life balance in a double-income household. This workshop is meant to be attended by students and their partners (and if you don't have a partner, you should still come, too!). Wherever you are in your life journey or career path, explore ways to better attain a healthy work/life balance.

WIL and BWIB Brunch Mixer - October 13, 2009 (11:00 am - 12:30 pm)
WIL believes in paying it forward. Join us for a mixer event with the Berkeley Women in Business Club (Haas undergraduates) where undergrads interested in business school and the working world can connect with those of us who have been through it.

Women in Leadership Conference - March 13, 2009
In the spring, we host our annual Women in Leadership Conference, the longest running student-organized summit at Haas. This event attracts over 450 female business leaders and participants. Past speakers include Alice Waters, Chef and Author, Proprietor Chez Panisse; Laura Alber, President of Williams-Sonoma, Inc.; Cammie Dunaway, EVP of Nintendo; Mitchell Baker, CEO of Mozilla; Jennifer Maxwell, Co-Founder of PowerBar; Anita Roddick, Founder and CEO of The Body Shop; Jenny Ming, President of Old Navy; and Patricia Woertz, Executive VP of ChevronTexaco (ranked #8 on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business).

Gender Communications
Examination of gender differences and streotypes with Prof Laura Kray. Discuss communications styles, socialization and conflict management as it applies to the work place. How does your non-verbal communication vary with each gender? How have your work experiences influenced your attitudes about what a male or female employee should be like? How have you been socialized to behave since your childhood? These topics and more were discussed in depth.
